Bio

Dr. Hannah Simon is a dual board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist specializing in mood and anxiety disorders across the developmental lifespan. Dr. Simon earned her undergraduate degree in neurobiology and psychology from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in education from the City University of New York.  Dr. Simon completed her medical training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, followed by psychiatry residency training at Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai Beth Israel.  She completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry—where she served as Chief Fellow—and an additional fellowship in Infant Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medicine and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

Before joining the Brandt Center, Dr. Simon served on the faculty at Weill Cornell Medicine as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry. There, she provided psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and families, supervised trainees, and developed innovative programming at the intersection of pediatric, perinatal, and family mental health. 

As the inaugural Medical Director of the Brandt Behavioral Health Treatment Center and Retreat, Dr. Simon is passionate about building trauma-informed, evidence-based treatment models that integrate psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, and family interventions to promote resilience and recovery in youth and emerging adults.
