Bio

Lisa Then, LAC, R-DMT, earned her BA in Mathematics from Rutgers College and her BFA in Dance from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, as well as her MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a concentration in Dance/Movement Therapy from Rider University. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults across community, outpatient, and inpatient settings.

Then approaches counseling as a collaborative and creative process, offering a compassionate and grounded presence to support clients in their healing. She believes in creating a space where individuals feel seen, understood, and empowered to access their inner wisdom and capacity for growth.

Her work in Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) is rooted in the belief that the body holds innate wisdom and the ability to heal. Through movement, clients can access and process emotions that may be difficult to express verbally, fostering greater connection between mind, body, and spirit. DMT also supports connection with others through shared movement and attunement, which can help reduce feelings of isolation often associated with depression and anxiety. This process promotes a sense of wholeness, vitality, and deeper self-awareness.

In her free time, Then enjoys spending time in nature, watching her son play soccer and basketball, selecting colorful flowers, getting her nails done, and connecting with friends and family.
